The Boucher ancestors in Quebec
My wife is a Boucher, and her first ancestor in America was Marin Boucher, born in 1589. He first came to Canada in 1634 with his nephew, Pierre, son of Gaspard (Marin's brother).
If you can relate yourselves to any of these two, you will find a lot of info in history books;
Marin was a Masson, and he is known for having helped build most of the early town of Beauport, Quebec.
As for Pierre, well, he went on to become Pierre Boucher, Sieur de Boucherville.
(Boucherville, wich he founded in the early 1700's, is a residential town on the south shore of Montreal, Quebec).
I come from Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, (est. 1634) where there are buildings, streets and a section of the university named for him.
