Hi Heather!
Here is a little info on my boucher line.
My grandfather Albert Boucher was born in Farringdon (then in Berkshire) and married my French-born grandmother Floria Adelaide Lefevre in France during WW1. Albert's father was Lovedon Boucher (also from Farringdon) who married a Kate May. Lovedon's father was also called Lovedon and he was born in 1861, he had a sister Rebecca bd a brother John. Oddly enough his father was also Lovedon (we have researched this unusual christian name and found that a rather grand house in the Farringdon area was owned by the same family for generations and their surname was Lovedon - quite how our family began to use the name as a first name is not known - but interesting to speculate! I have found the use of Lovedon in our family as far back as 1653 or thereabouts, maybe even further back). Now this Lovedon was born in 1824 and died in 1901 (still in the Farringdon area). Now, wait for it, his father was called yes you guessed it....Lovedon...he was baptised in 1799 but I don't have his birthdate. This chap had quit a few siblings namely - Hannah, William, Richard, John, Ann, Charles, James and Elizabeth. This latest Lovedon was the son of Thomas Boucher (phew!) and Elizabeth. Thomas died in 1808 (no birthdate yet) but Elizabeth was born in 1767. Thats about as far back as I can go by connecting everyone to each other. I have more Lovedons (now there's a surprise) and other Bouchers but I havn't quite worked out where they all belong in the tree. I have found no connection so far to Ireland but who knows? I have plenty of other Boucher folks connected to my tree so if you think there is the possibility of there being some connection to yours let me know, they miht be on my tree somewhere, its just a bit too big and complicated to set out here. Hope this is of interest to you. Bye for now.
