J"ai un Joseph Borris qui se marie a Mary Jane Smith a Dalhousie au N.B.en 1870 et on dit qu'il est du Quebec. Il a aussi un fils ne a St Moise l'annee suivante je crois. Je ne trouve rien d'autre sur cette famille, auriez vous aucune idee d'ou viendrait cette famille Borris our Borras ou meme quelques fois Borris .? On me dit possiblement de St Jean Port Joli ? Portneuf ?

Looking for information on a Joseph Borris who married Mary Jane smith at Dalhousie in 1870 with a note saying he was from Quebec. Would anyone have any idea where the Borris/Borass family came from ? Someone told me it could have been St Jean Port Joli, Portneuf ?

I am specifically looking for family of Mary E. Borris, born on 15 Aug 1878, reportedly in Texas. (There are Borris' from Erath County, TX from that period, but I do not know if they are related or not.)

Sometime soon after 1903, she married Frank Bacak (b. 3 Dec 1861 in Trojanovice, Moravia) in Texas (likely Fayette or Dallas County). They had 5 children together: Vlasta, Albert, Anna, Lewis and Edward Bacak. Moving from Dallas (by that time) to Elk, McLennan County, Texas, Mary died on 17 Feb 1937, and was buried in St. Mary's Cemetery, West, Texas. Her husband (Frank Bacak) was buried with her, as he died 3 years later.

The surviving Bacak family knows nothing of her parents
or other family. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
