My Grandmother Lena Rae Cavenaugh was placed in the orphanage shortly after her mother died, on 28 Dec 1921. Her siblings also, Vencie Bliss, Annie Bessie and brother Hezzie Lee Cavenaugh. I am looking for people who were also in the orphanage in that period. This would be memories like mine. Grandchildren, re-telling the stories of their grandparent. My grandmother married a nephew of Bruce Boroughs, one of the caretakers of the orphanage. My Grandfather was Paul Bryan Boroughs, Sr. The two of them had 9 children, Paul Jr., Ray, Robert, Amelia, Boyce, Mary, Sam, Pat and Durwood. It would be wonderful to see pictures of the orphanage at that time, especially of the children in the facility.

I would be interested to hear stories of the experiences the children had their as well. My grandmother did not like it. Her sisters loved it. Her brother constantly ran away.

My Great-great grandparents are buried at the Falcon Cemetery, Jacob Earl Boroughs & Prudence Caroline Bolt, along with the caretaker, Bruce Boroughs and his wife Pearl Fluke.
