Richard's father is William Poe Booz, born in Virginia in 1772 and his mother is Mary "Polly" Scott born in Kentucky in 1774. His siblings are Edward (I can't find much on him) born in KY in 1804, Martha Ann (m: George Whitfield Dale 11 Dec 1825), William (can't find him either) born in KY 31 Aug 1807, Frances M. (m: Benjamin Abbot) born in KY 1817, Andrew (m: Polly A. ?) born in KY 1818, and James (m: Caroline ?) born in KY 1823. All of these kids and mom came to Hancock Co., Illinois by 1840 or so. It has been a real pain to track some of these down.
This is my father-in-law's family and he doesn't know much about the Booz family. What I have learned to date is that they were prominent in the Fountain Green, Hancock twp., Hancock Co., Illinois area. Richard's son William even becoming a doctor, preacher, and school master.
