My ggrandfather, Luke Bond was born in Truro, Cornwall, England Dec. 5 1838 to James Andrew Bond and Phillipa Williams. They came to Montreal, Canada in 1842. His father, two brothers, Nicholas and Frederick died the year of their arrival. One sister, Johanna Hugo Bond and James Henry along with Luke survived. Phillipa died in 1850. Luke married Margaret Ryan in Scarborough, York, Canada on Sept. 24, 1860. My grandfather, Albert Luke was born in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada on Sept. 25, 1869. He was one of 7 children. They lived in Middlebury, Vt according to the 1870 census and the 1880 census shows that they lived in Moriah, Essex, NY. Albert Luke married Maria Ellen Porter in Cohoes, NY on June 28, 1899. My mother Naomi Ruth was born April 2, 1900 in Port Henry, Essex, NY. Luke died in 1909 in Troy, NY and Margaret in 1920 in W. Springfield, MA.
