Matthew & Julia married in Adams County, IL. By 1870, they were across the river in Ralls County, MO. By 1880, they moved across the state to Jackson County, MO. By 1900, they moved to the Carrollton area (Carroll County, MO), where they lived until Matthew's death in 1916. After that Julia went to live with one of her children until her death in 1932.

Through all of their travels they had 9 children. The youngest girl, Charlotte, married Forrest Powell and had 4 children, the youngest was my grandfather Norman Powell.
