I found it! Correct me if I'm wrong.....Mt. Pleasant Cemetery is the same one as Buckskin Cemetery. I searched the small cemetery and found other family members, but didn't see his headstone. Some I couldn't read and it looked like some were missing.

ELIZABETH BURNS BOES, VINCENT BOZE (BOES)

I'm looking for more information on Elizabeth BURNS born between 1802 and 1804 in Kentucky. She married Clemens (or Clemons) BOES in 1823 in Decatur County, Indiana. In the 1870 Federal Census in Morgan Township in OWEN COUNTY,she is listed with 2 of her daughters (Mary & Angeline) and a man 2 years older than her whose name is Vincent BOZE (I'm sure this is supposed to be BOES).

Who is this Vincent BOZE (BOES)? He was born in Virginia. Elizabeth's husband, Clemens, didn't die until 1875.

Hi Pamela
I have very little information on the Boes side but I believe we are looking for the same people. I have that a Robert Boes was born in Ohio on 7 Apr 1940. Died in Michigan May 1969. (suicide) He was married to a Collean Leivdal. They had 4 Children. But due to the untimely death of Robert Boes' mother he was sent to live with an aunt at about age 7-10. He had one known brother Richard (dicky) Boes. Whom is still alive but I believe his whereabouts are still in Ohio and he refuses to give any info. at all. If you have any info I would love it!

Ky.
Her stone reads as Elizabeth Boes. It is located at the front edge of the cemetery - almost in the road ditch - to the right side as you are facing the church.

This is an old message, have you figured out the picture yet? I believe it is of John F Boes b Nov 1854 Butler Co Ohio. His father was Joseph Boes mother Lucretia Staats or Stutts. He had two daughters Rebecca and Ruth, the same as your picture.
This is not my direct line, but I descend from the immigrant Paul Boes and am trying to fill out the branches on this tree.
Boes, Butler County Ohio

Anyone researching the Boes family from Ross, Butler Co Ohio. Paul Boes, b Germany, his daughter Elizabeth Boes b 1800-1802 Germany or Ohio, married first Moses Vanlue, 5 children b Decatur Co Indiana, John b 1822, Mary 1823, Catherine 1824 (my ggggrandmother)William b 1826 and David b 1829. Moses Vanlue died circa 1829. Elizabeth Boes Vanlue married second Erasmus Jones, brother of Chesley Jones. Erasmus Jones b circa 1801 Kentucky. Elizabeth and Erasmus had 7 more children, Isobell (Bell) 1835, Almarion (Marion)1836, Anthony b 1838, Chesley Jan 1840, Margaret A b 1841, Matilda Jane, b 1843 and Lucinda b 1845, all in Decatur Co Indiana. I am trying to fill in the blanks on this tree. Two of the Jones girls married Mathew Anacker and one married into the Miami Indian tribe.
In the 1850 census, for those of you looking for Anthony Boes, he is living with Elizabeth and Erasmus. Anthony Boes b 1829, says KY I am sure he is her nephew. According to Wm Vanlue's marriage license, 2 of them his mother was born in Germany, maybe she just spoke German. I have found some connections to the Boes in Michigan that appear to have been missed in some of the trees. I believe she was born in Ohio. I would love to exchange info on my line. I would love to see pictures of Boes people. Please email me at gasladysocal at msn.com.
Thank You,
Jeanette

I, like you, am searching for Boes. I have a John Boes in my ancestry, but he would be more likely to be Margaret's brother. John Had a brother named James Boes. James is my gggrandfather. I have very little information other than the Boes lived in the Owen /Clay County, Indiana area. I do know where some are buried in northwestern Owen County. I'm not sure, but I think James named one of his daughters Margaret. I have some other information if you think it would be of any help. My ggrandmother's name was Melissa Emaline (Boes) Query.

Jennifer,

Sankt Walburga (St. Walburga Catholic Church) is the church in Ramsdorf, in what is now Germany. Since Gerhard Boes was buried in the Catholic Cemetery, I looked in the original records of the Catholic Church in the town the family thought was his birthplace. You can see his baptismal records and those of possible siblings in the microfilm from the LDS Family History Library at your local Family History Center. It's FHC#0858952. The family name is spelled Böes or Boees if translated into English. Hope that helps.
