My Boehle branch came to Texas around 1890. I have MANY old photos of immediate and more distant Boehle relations that I would like to share. Most photos are marked Dallas, but some are from San Antonio and Ellis County. MOST are unnamed and unidentified. HELP

I think we're related! Herman Otto had a brother, Gustave, who is my 2nd great grandfather. I have recently received some old Boehle family photos that I would love for you to see. Maybe you can help me identify some folks. I can remember "Aunt" Elsa. We also saw a lot of another of my grandmother's cousins, Clara. I think her married name was Taylor. Any thoughts?

My maternal grandfather was born in leipzig, Germany. Which became part of East Germany after WWII. He Moved to Sao Paulo Brasil in 1920's.

Our Boehle family were from Baden Baden, Germany. They emigrated to the USA circa 1900 each family member sending for their siblings as they were financially able. My husband's great grandfather, Jacob, returned to Europe and is said to have died in Paris. His wife and children remained in the USA. I am sorry I am unable to be of help to you and extend my sincerest sympathy to you in your family's tragic loss.

my parents were born at province posen,(german)
my father moshe/martin BEHLE was born, 1894 at the town lissa/germany,
(today leszno/ poland).
my mother was born, 1900 as Chana / Hertha STCKEL at Krotozchin Posen.

my parents, moved after w/w/1 to Breslau and lived there, untill immigrated to Israel, 1934.

parts of my father family, died at the holocaust.
i tried to findout if there are more Jewish families, named "BEHLE".
i wish to find out, if you can help me to find:

1. the name BEHLE sources ?
2. how this name came to my family ?
3. is it possible to find out, if there are more Jewish families,named BEHLE ?.

I have John T. boen 1836 in Germany. he died in CT, 1906. His son, Rudolph Henry was born in Germany 1869. He died in CT 1915. Rudolph immigrated to US in 1886. I have the town that John/Rudolph came from as "Unteroewisheim, Bruchsal, Baden, Germany. Both left via Baden. I have no idea who family members were etc. Rudolph is my grandfather. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Both John and Rudolph were bakers.

I saw your posting on ancestery and like the other responder, I know your parents and grandparents. My husband descends from Otto and Jacob via Vida. ( Just for your information, there is a Concerman genealogy on line with pictures. )

My husband's grandfather was Lewis Boehle. Do you have any other information? Lewis & Irene Virden Boehle lived in Yuma, MI when my husband's father was born. They had two girls and two boys. They are all deceased. There is still some of their family in the Yuma area and other parts of Michigan.

Your Lewis (Louis) Boehle may be my great uncle. Him and his wife lived in Michigan and are buried in the Yuma Cemetery. Does this sound like your relative?

Interesting. I am also a Bailey which was an Ellis Island or English name chosen by my great grandfather who was a Boehle. Not sure what his full name was other than Joseph was part of it. He came here around the turn of the 20th century because he was not happy with the way things were going in Germany.

Sorry but I don't have any records of US relatives/related surnames. I think you have to start "digging" for information in US administrations to find more about this Peter Boehle and his ancestors. If they are Dutch I can help you further from here.

I live in Hubbard Lake which is near Alpena. I am a United Methodist minister where I am assigned to the Hubbard Lake/Ossineke charge. I was raised in Saginaw.

I am familar with your branch of the family, but I don't think I have met too many of you. Although I was very young I remember Uncle Louie Bailey. I was frightened of him, because he seemed so tall to me. I remember my dad telling me that Uncle Louie was my uncle too and I shouldn't be afraid of him.

Whenever my dad talked about his Uncle Louie it was always with respect and love.

If you look at the other postings, I think there are somee messages from your branch of the family. I also have other information that is posted about our family.

Since you live in Troy, you are not too far from where John and Minnie Boehle and some other family members are buried. They are in the West Mound cemetary on Eureka Rd, across from the Southland Mall, and next to the West Mound United Methodist Church. If you want more info, I do have more, just let me know.

Bob, Yes, I gathered from your previous post that you were Irene's grandson. Irene was born in Washington Co., OH and grew up in Pleasants Co., WV..just across the OHio River from Washington Co. OH. She was the daughter of Rachel Smith Harlan Virden and Absolam Virden. Rachel's sister, Elizabeth Smith Shook, was my great great grandmother. Rachel and Elizabeth were the daughters of George Smith and Elizabeth Iams of Greene Co. PA and later of Monroe Co., OH. Did you get email recently from Mary from WV? She will probably fill you in more, but you may email me directly if you'd like. I have generations of Irene's ancestors.

My maternal great-grandfather, Frederick Loewenstein, is listed on his Civil War pension papers as being married to Mary Elizabeth Boehle, in New York City on Dec.11, 1857. Her death certificate lists her birth date as Sept. 22, 1832 and her birthplace as Germany. She died in Balto. Md. on June 29, 1914. If anyone else has knowledge of her I would appreciate their getting in touch with me. I am the granddaughter of Helena (Lena) Ritterbusch (nee Loewenstein) and the daughter of Anna Ritterbusch Vanaman,(Lena's daughter).

I'm related through my sister. Is your birthday in January? She is married to Martain Bailey.They live in Arizona for years.Martain is retired and Betty is a nurse.Neil, their son lives in California. Kathy, their daughter lives near Betty and Martain. Shirley, Martin's sister died some years ago of cancer. Mildred Martins mother recently died . She was 96 years old. Hopethis helps. Rosie

Hi Bob, Just found your post from January. I don't have proof, but I'm pretty sure that Irena was born in Washington Co., OH, Grandview twp. Good morning - My mother was a Boehle. Her father and grandfather Rudolph came to the states in 1886. According to an emigration record, from "Unteroewisheim, Bruchsai, Baden. Rudolph was a baker and settled in Meriden Connecticut. Any help would be much appreciated. Alicia

I also have a Jacob and Otto in my tree. jacob and Otto were brothers . Jacob was born in 1988 Otto in 1897 . Their fathers name was Max Jakub born 1860. Maybe their is a connection.

My husbands great-great grandfather, John Boehle (Bailey) came from northern Germany. He came to the U.S. around 1850 from Schwelm, Germany.
Census records show that he was in New York before settling in Wyandotte, Michigan. I do not know who John married or anything else about him. We would like more information about him. Also, his wife's name, ect. We know of at least one son, Gustav John Boehle was born in 1853. He moved from Wyandotte to settle in Yuma, MI. in December of 1892. Gustav & Mary had four children. Their eldest child was my husband's grandfather, Louis.
Most of his Gustav'schildren and down the line have changed the spelling to Bailey. We still use the original family spelling of Boehle, pronouced Bailey. Does any of this information go along with your family history?

As we have sent before, we are related to Gustav & Mary Sophia Helms Boehle. My husband Robert, is the grandson of Lewis Boehle(Bailey) son of Gustav & Mary.

We are interested in a copy of the drawing of their farm that you mentioned. We have a photo of the farm house in Yuma. We think the photo we have of them might have been taken the day they were married. Also, a copy of the diary written by Mary that she started on New Years Day 1855 and went through 1919. She recorded their daily lives faithfully except, for a few months in 1916. This diary was in the possession of Florence Dorothy Boehle Nelson's possessions. Do you know about this diary?
We are very interested in receiving any information about our family. Especially, John Boehle, Schwelm Germany.

We are looking for information on Irene Virden, Louis Boehle's wife. Louis is my husbands grandfather. My father-in-law was born in Yuma, Michigan and later moved to the Detroit area. We have no information on Irene and would appreciate anything that you can share with us.

My wife Nancy and I live in Troy Mi. We have a mobile home in Harrietta. Bernard Boehle was my father and Louis Bailey was his father. My mother lives in Harrietta. My cousin Daniel Boehle lives in Harrietta his father was Mark son of Louis. We have a photograph of Walter & Bertha Bailey and Louis and Irene and Mary Boehle and some Bailey children.
