This is the bio that we have on Henry.

He came to New York before 1869, sometime during the civil war from Schleswig, Holstein, Germany. He also served on a German Merchant Navy Boat in Germany. He joined the Navy during the Civil War and served as a Machinist aboard the U.S.S. Queen. We also think that he was on the U.S.S. Kerrsarge. His rank was Master of Arms. Served from 1863-1864. Department of Interior file number was 47959. Certificate number was 79661, act of April, 1908.

We believe the U.S.S. Stamen Queen was out of Ohio. He is described as being 5'8", gray eyes, and Brown Hair. He was admitted Aug 23, 1863 for Bronchitisauts. Notes on discharge papers include Miss Agnes Otto of New York, New York, he was discharged on July 17/18, 1864. Munster roll states the ship is the Stamer Queen, his entry list Ships 10, Bock, Henry, Sea, 1863 July 1, 25th August 1863 Munster Roll. Other notes indicated that Henry F. Bock enlisted on July 31, 1863 at Boston, Mass. for 1 yr as a seaman. Place of birth Hamburg, 24yrs of age, grey eyes, brown hair, 5'8", 177lbs, complexion dark. Also listed sometimes as Harry F. Bock, Pension - April 26, 1902 Pension number 47959, discharged in Brooklyn Navy Yard, NY. Agnes and Henry were married in the year of 1869, then they moved to Davenport, Scott Co., Iowa. They lived there till 1884, then moved to Osborn, Agnes and Henry had three known children, one was Augusta Bertha, Sophia Agnes, and Charles Bock, there could of been other children, not sure about, yet. Agnes died and he married Wilhelminia Boltz, they had eleven children, one of them being Rudolf Wayne Bock who was my Great Great Grandfather.
