Boadway from MI

Surnames: Boadway / Glassford
I am looking for any information on the Boadway / Glassford line. I know my husband's grandmother was born in Yale Mi on 2/20/1899. Her name was Iva Leona Boadway born to William John Boadway and Sarah Ann (Glassford) Boadway. I got this information from his grandfather's bible so this is the only information I have on his Boadway family. I sure could use some help to establish a connection for our children.

Beverly,

My wife and I are carrying on her father's (Rev.Ted Boadway) genealogical research on the Boadway family name. She is part of the same lineage as your family which is the Ontario/Michigan Boadway's. There are also Boadway lines from New York and Maine which we believe are related but this has not been proven yet.

There are two generations above William and Sarah, William's father John E. Boadway (1829-1890) and mother Nancy Annis Robinson(1846-1907), both buried in the Moore Cemetery, Brockway Township, MI. John's father was Alexander Boadway/Beaudoin (circa 1791-1878) married to Ann Page (bd unknown; died circa 1847).

It is believed that Alexander was one of several brothers of an affluent family in France who was sent to Canada to live with an uncle in Montreal. The story goes that as soon as the boat docked in Montreal, Alex headed south to the US, anglicized the name to Boadway, connected with the migration of the Pennsylvania Dutch to Canada, married Ann Page and settled in to farming in southern Ontario.

We also have on record that Iva married Roy Eidson and had four children - Thomas, Joseph, Ernest and Lois. Lois married Phil O'Malley and had 5 children - David, Patricia, Jennifer, Donald and James (I assume you tie in here somewhere). The information on the generations below Iva and Roy is fairly light so any new information would be appreciated.

We can provide more information on the rest of the Ontario/Michigan Boadway line if you are interested. Please contact us directly. Hope to hear from you.

Scott,
I was very happy to receive your reply. Iva did indeed marry Roy Eidson. However, your information about their children is only partly correct. Their children were- Thomas, Joseph, Earnest (died as a toddler) Donald, James, and Lois.
Lois married Wayne Bias and they had two children, David (my husband) and Teresa. Wayne left Lois early in their marraige and she then married Phil O'Malley in April 1968. Phil adopted David and Teresa and has been the only real father they have ever had. Lois and Phil then adopted a daughter, Jennifer, in October 1975. I think the Don and Jim you have as Lois and Phil's children are Lois's brothers. The Patricia you have might be Teresa. I do not know of any Patricia. David and I married in Feb.1982 and have five children. Four sons and a daughter. I would love to share more information.
Lois is in poor health with empyshema(sp?) and all the brothers except Jimmy are deceased now.
