I am just beginning to try and trace my family history and to contact relatives. My dad is named Edward Charles Boadway, and he was born in Malone, NY, to Royal and Mary Louise Boadway on January 24, 1936. That's really all I know except that our family is originally from Canada. I know there are relatives in NY, NJ, AZ, and CO for sure. Other than that, I am unsure. Please contact me with any information @ angylwingkysses@yahoo.com. Thank You!!!! Serena

Serena,

Although it is not our primary line, I do have information about your branch of the Boadway's. My wife and I are just restarting our research and I saw your post. I was able to share information with one of your relatives from upstate New York who had your lineage traced back to the mid 1600's.
We believe that our line and your line are tied together but have not been able to prove a link. There is another line of Boadway's in Maine that may also be tied to ours. I would be interested in exchanging information with you.

HI,
My maiden name is Boadway. My father's family came to Canada (Alberta) from Michigan, probably in the early 1900's. My grandrather's name was Herbert. I was of the understanding that our name was originally Beaudoin and that we originated in France. Feel free to e-mail if you have any questions.

You are correct about the origin of the name. My wife's Mother was a Boadway and here are 5 generation of that family for you to look at. Since "Boadway" isderived from Beaudoin(Baudoin, Beaudin) I'm sure that the family is the same. There are still many in Upstate NY in the Ellenburgh, Churubusco and Chateaugay area where my wife and I came from. I would be happy to exchange information with you (or just give you the information if you have none to exchange) on this family. I also have some of the extended family on record. Contact me at gothisson@verizon.net--Respectfully, Tony

If your Herbert Boadway is who I think it is then here is some information that can help:
Herbert Boadway married Mary Wixson daughter of Oliver Wixson. She is my Grandfather, Horace's, sister. They moved to the Edmonton area in the early 1900s. Mary's brother, Jim, was a single man who lived somewhere east of the city. Mary died in 1962. Jim died in 1955. I am not sure of Herbert's date of birth or date of death and would like to know if possible.
My grandfather, Horace (Hod), stayed in contact with Jim and Verna family for many years after his sister Mary died.
If this is the actual connection, please contact me via email so we can complete our trees.
If you are Donna, John and Doris' daughter, then we've hit the jackpot. I am Martin Wixson's son, Martin II. Family call me Marty.
Thank you.
