You will run across partial names in the early records of North Kingstown, New London and other areas due to fire and other damage.

Ely was a transcription error for Bly in Rhode Island, possibly other areas. Bligh, Blyth and Blythe are also fairly common spellings, and some Blaigh, Bleigh and Blough as well.

There appears to be a patriarch from Virginia, 1620 era, I think a Daniel Bly (Ely) and three from Boston-Salem from 1630 era, John, Thomas and Dorothy. One from there is German, the other three English. There may be others but I am focused on the Boston-Salem migrations.
