DE SMET - Mrs. Otto (Leona) BLOTE, 58, died Friday at the De Smet Hospital. She was born May 24, 1914, at Bancroft, the daughter of Henry and Alta STEMPLE. She attended school and was graduated from Bancroft High School. She married Otto BLOTE Nov. 18, 1933, at De Smet. Following their marriage they farmed in the Bancroft and Manchester communities. They resided in California for a time and in 1948 moved to De Smet where they were engaged in the cafe business. She was Kingsbury County Civil Defense director the past four years.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Allen (Gloria) WIENK, Sioux Falls; one son, Larry, Rapid City; four sisters, Mrs. Elzo (Ruth) SPRANG, De Smet; Mrs. Herbert (Mildred) FRANSEN, Estherville, Iowa; Mrs. Harvey (Lucille) MARKS [Marx?], Manchester; four brothers, Harold STEMPLE, Brookings, Lauren and Darrow STEMPLE, Hollins, Wyo; Willard STEMPLE, Deadwood; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m., Monday at First Congregational Church with the Rev. Beryl MELCHER officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Iroquois. Ketelsen Funeral Home announces arrangements.
