My name is Harry Eugene Blocker III. I've traced my "Blocker" line back as far as Michael Blocker Jr (1700-61) -- Michael Blocker III (1725-74) in Cumberland Co. NC, John Gottlieb Blocker in NC and SC (1749-1814), Jesse Blocker in SC (1780-1831), William Johnson Blocker in SC and Texas (1811-59), Eugene Burrus Blocker in Marshall, Texas (1837-1922), Eugene Everett Blocker in Honey Grove, Texas (1866-1926), Harry Eugene Blocker, Sr. in Lubbock and Dallas, Texas (1892-1963), to my father Harry Eugene Blocker, Jr. in Dallas, Texas, born 1916.
My question concerns the stories I've heard that this clan of Blockers came from Prussia -- Bluecher and related to General Von Bluecher who helped defeat Napoleon. Is there any truth to these stories? The Blockers from North Carolina in the mid 1700s seem to be in a very English community. Where did Michael Blocker Jr (1700-61) come from? Who were his parents?
I know you said once that there was no proof regarding these early Blockers (from the late 1600s and before) -- but do you have anything new?
