Shaun, the colonel, to which you are referring, is most likely Eliot's, (birth name is Eileen Nora Bliss) father, his name was John Plomer Bliss and he was married to Eva Lees Bliss, they also had a son named John Alexander Bliss, also know as Sonny, in the 1930's John, Eva and Sonny moved to Sierra Leone, South Africa and Eileen stayed in England and died there at Bishops Stafford Herefordshire, (not sure of the spelling). John Lees-Bliss could be John Alexander Bliss, maybe we have the middle name mixed up and Alexander was not his middle name, then if what you are saying is true, then Eliot would be your grandfather's sister. I do not know if John was a colonel, I heard his son John Jr. was on the police force in Sierra Leone, but there has been no mention of him and his parents since they left for Sierra Leone.

Where are you located? I am in Yucaipa, California U.S.A., I am the grandson of John Plomer Bliss' sister Violet Bliss and great-grandson of Thomas J Bliss and Sarah Bliss, and great-great-grandson of Thomas Bliss and Jesse Sim Bliss of Morayshire, (Moray) Scotland, where our great-great-grandfather was in the service for the Earl of Moray for 60 years, between him and his two wives, Jesse Sim and Elizabeth Dawson, they had 16 children.

My grandmother Violet Gladys had one sister, Mary Wyatt and three brothers, John Plomer, Gordon, (who was a colonel) and Randolph Stewart.

My grandmother Violet Gladys, (b.1884 in Lahore India and died 12-25-1930 in Hollywood, California) married James Greenfield and bore him two children, James Gordon Greenfield (1922-1956) and Gladys Mary Greenfield (1924-1924), I am the only son of James Gordon Greenfield and my name is James Gordon Greenfield, (1951-) and my sister, Paula Elaine Greenfield (1954-) Frazer is his only daughter.

Mary Bliss Wyatt, (born in India) married Horace Wyatt and had one child, Digby Waytt (1900-1977), Digby as far as I know never had any children.

John Plomer Bliss, (born in India) married Eva Lees Bliss and had two children, Eileen (Eliot) Nora Bliss (1903-1990) and John, (Sonny) Bliss, (I believe that John was born in 1907). Eileen never married and had no children, I heard that John married and had about three children.

Gordon Bliss, (born in India) had one son, Cecil Bliss, (1900-1984) and both died in the London area of Dorset, England. Gordon Bliss Died in 1949.

Randolph Stewart Bliss, (born in India) married Georgina Travalone, (uncertain of the spelling), and had two daughters, Hillary,(deceased) and Noelle (1918-2013). Randolph died just three days after his sister Violet on Dec. 28th, 1930.

Our gg-grandfather's brother, John Noah Bliss settled in Henry County, Ohio, USA in the 1850's and died there in 1900, same year as his brother who died in England on Jan. 1st. 1900.

If you are related to Eliot, then you are related to me, cousins.
