I'm interested on any information I can possibly find on the Bleakley's of (Portlongfield) Killeshandra, County Cavan, Ireland ... some of the information I've found re our connection to the Bleakley's of Portlongfield is below:-
My great grandmother, Margery Bleakley, was born approx 1867 near Killeshandra (townland of Portlongfield), County Cavan, Ireland ... her parents were William Bleakley (record # 34), a farmer, and Margaret Magee (record # 35), a domestic servant.
Margery (record # 23), a domestic servant, left home on Wednesday, 17th May. Travelled from the Port of London to Sydney, NSW, 1890, on the ship 'Liguria' of Liverpool, England. Arrival in Australia was on Friday, 27th June. Aged approximately 23. Possibly left from Ireland as the ship left England the month before.
Margery apparently had approximately 14 brothers and sisters the only names known being:- James Bleakley (record # 191) who immigrated to Australia and died on 1st September, 189?, and was buried at Waverly Cemetery; Mary Ann Bleakley (record # 192) who immigrated to Australia and married Edward Smith (record # 193) and was cremated/buried at Woronora Cemetery; Jane; Isobela (Isabella) who immigrated to Australia and was a witness at Margery's wedding. Margery died on 19th June, 1929, aged approximately 62 years.
Apparently Mary Ann Bleakley arrived in Australia before Margery. Mary died when Morgan (Thomas James Morgan Hewitt) was approximately 16 or 17.
Margery married Thomas Hewitt (record # 22) on 7th August, 1895, at Surry Hills, NSW. Margery and Thomas had three children:-

Thomas James Morgan Hewitt (record # 106), born 31st July, 1897. Thomas died aged approximately 21/22 years.
Margaret Eliza Isabella Hewitt (record # 17), my grandmother, born 9th December, 1899, at Paddington, NSW. Margaret married Thomas Alfred Edwards on 28th September, 1929, at Surry Hills, NSW. Margaret died on 25th September, 1989, at Bankstown, NSW, and was cremated at Rookwood Crematorium, Rookwood Cemetery. They had twins, one male (stillborn) and one male (living) being Alfred Thomas Edwards (record # 5).
