The listing is William, George and Jesse with no one in between. The only other Blanton was James and he was on a different page with no apparent sons, although they appeared in later censuses.
Since the commissioners actually visited homes after 1828, rather than collecting lists at militia musters, this is an almost certain indication that Jesse was a son of William. I had a unidentified possible son born 1810-1815 from the 1820 and 1830 censuses. All of the other sons had been identified.
All of the other Jesse Blantons born about 1815 have been identified. DNA testing of a descendant through an all-male line would clinch it, since we can distinguish Southwest VA Blantons from others by a unique mutation on a slow marker. However, it looks as if there may be few, if any, male-line descendants.
