William's wife was named as Margaret in a deed, but there is no record to support Moss as her maiden name.

However, Obadiah was not his son. Obadiah's father was Archer Blanton, son of Abraham Womack and Ann Blanton. We call this family the Womack Blantons and their Womack lineage has been proven with DNA testing.

His marriage to Betsy Green was mentioned in a biography of a grandson, but there is no record of it. He later married Judy Wardin and they are in the 1850 census of McDowell NC.

I am not certain if the William who married Ada Connor was his son, but there appears to be no other possibility. All of his children are listed in the calendar book in Louise McDonald's research at:

She thought William II, son of the above William was Obadiah's father, because of misleading information in one of the biographies.
