This John was married to Almeda Huff and lived 1828-1867. The William Blanton Bible is posted on the BFH site at:

William was a son of John and Elizabeth Blanton, who moved to MO. He was a brother of Joseph in your line. He may have gone to MO and returned to Lee County. There is a William in the 1830 census of Jackson MO and he can't be found in VA in 1830.
