I am currently doing some research on my family tree and have hit a couple of road block. I have read a number of the posts on this forum, Loiuse McDonald's web page, and some other sites and seem to have conflicting notes.

Some background... My great-grandfather is Robert Vanlee Blanton of Newport, AR. I've also seen his name as Robert Van Blanton. He was born in 1878 and died in 1948. His father (as i know it) was John W. Blanton(b.1848 - d.1900) and mother was Mary Jane Ussery(b.1856 - d.1918).

Now here is where it gets cloudy. My Grandfather, Robert Gray(b. 1923 in Newport, AR), says that John W's parents were Albert G. Blanton (b.~1818) and Frances B. Yandell (b.~1818). In the documentation on McDonald's web site it states that Albert G. Blanton was born in 1857, which is a major difference. Also, her work states that Albert and Frances had a son named John Nathan Blanton (b. 1870) who later moved to Texas, but no mention of John W. Blanton.

I was hoping that someone may be able to shed some light on Albert G. Blanton. (year he was born, year that he passed, names of his parents, and/or names of his children) From what I know he may have lived in Obion, TN.
