Back in Feb of 2001, I started a Blankenship project to put the whole family together and Proof it. I’ve compiled works of over 770 other researcher that sent me their file, When we stared the goal was to proof it to 1880, but there seemed to be a lot of folks that were having trouble getting pasted the 1880-1900 gap. So I’ve proofed it thru to 1920.
I haven’t been able to attach a lot of the lines to the main family yet, but I have them in the file and attached to an American Blankenships, faults parents, and proofed, Some of the lines are not proofed because I didn’t find anything on them or I have them mis-IDed.
My file at roots web is
http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=jimmermi . If you can’t fined your line of the family, send me what you have and I’ll give it a try. If you can and would care to make any corrections or additions, just use the post-em on the file. That way I know right were your looking in the file. Remember to leave me an E-address so I can get back to you. If your name is in the Submitters List drop me a line please.
In my file, I use the
Blank’en’ship spelling for the VA family (Ralph’s) [28,535 entries]
Blank’in’ship spelling for the New England Family (James’) [201 entries]
Blank’an’ship spelling for the African Families (Still working on these) [232 entries]
For first names, I use common spellings to make searching the file easier, I.E. Louis is Lewis, Sally is Sarah, Polly is Mary, Peggy is Margaret, Bob is Robert, Etc.
I have also built a very large database of Blankenship records, and have them set up on line, in an Area Timeline format, at
http://www.blankenshipweb.com/ . This will show what we have found so far. That way you know what to go looking for. If you find a census record that I don’t Have yet. Send me a copy or let me know where it is and I’ll transcribe it. If find one that I have but don’t have IDed, drop me a note to let me know so I can get it into the Genealogy file.
If your interested in working with us, we are on the Blank’in’ship List at Rootsweb.
