Arthur "Mousie" Blankenship
Arthur Lee "Mousie" Blankenship, 86, went to be with the Lord Nov. 8.
He made his home in the Rowe area of Buchanan County. In recent years he and his beloved wife lived at Mountain View Adult Care Assisted Living Facility in Lebanon.
Born Sept. 19, 1920 in Buchanan County, he was a son of the late Rev. David and Nora Bailey Blankenship.
He was a member of UMWA and was a retired coal tipple operator. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Orvil and Patton Blankenship, and two sisters, Faye Street and Lucy Belcher.
Survivors: beloved and devoted wife of 58 years, Fannie Ellen Blankenship; son, Larry David Blankenship and wife, Claudine, of Tazewell; brothers, David Junior Blankenship and wife, Barbara, of Oakwood, James Harlan Blankenship and wife, Doris, of Cedar Bluff, Billy L. Blankenship and wife, Jean, of Norton; sisters, Pastor Trula Harman and husband, Clyde, and Ruby Cox and husband, Emory, all of Oakwood, Dorothy Harman and husband, Kendris, of Tazewell; grandchildren, Dia Blankenship of Bluefield, VA, David Blankenship and wife, Natalie, of Tazewell; and great grandchildren, Madeline Blankenship and Larry David Blankenship III.
The funeral was conducted at 2 p.m. Nov. 11 at Buchanan Funeral Service Chapel at Keen Mountain with Pastor Jerry Harmon officiating.
Burial followed in the Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery at Richlands.
