I have Guillaume and Rene as their sons.One line goes to my father and the other to my mother.Does anyone have any information on any other children of guillaume and huguette?Thanks Dennis

Hi, my line also goes to Guillaume and Hugette. They had a son named Pierre b. 1695. I have been able to look at Census reports that list the children. The site that I use is wonderful and has the most extensive information that I have seen. It is www.acadian-cajun.com. I don't have the info. with me or I would list them for you, but you will find alot of wht you are looking for there. Another site that is helpful is The Acadian Odyssey. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your offer for help. I am always looking for additional information on my family tree. My line is:
Jehan Blanchard b. 1611
Guillaume Blanchard b. 1650
Pierre Blanchard b. 1695
Joseph Blanchard b. 1739
and so on.
My biggest questions deal with Pierre and Joseph and what happened to them during the deportation. I know that Joseph came to Louisiana, but can't seem to locate information on Pierre. Please feel free to e-mail me directly, I always look forward to discussing this topic.

Guillaume Blanchard and his wife Huguette Poirier were married in 1610 in Martaize, France, she was born in 1590 in LaChausse. They were the first Blanchards in Acadia, now Nova Scotia, who arrived in 1640 from france. With them was their son Jehan or Jean and a daughter Marie, and Marie's husband Jerome Guerin. Jehan was born in 1611 in Martaize. Jehan or Jean married in Port Royal, Acadia in 1642 to Radegonde Lambert. Since my wife is a direct descendant of Guillaume, we have put together a small booklet on her direct family line, from Guillaume to the present time.

Guillaume married Huguette Gougeon, born 1657 and died October 18, 1717 in Port Royal, Acadia ( Nova Scotia ). Their children were: 1. MARIE, born 1674 in Port Royal. Married ( 2 ) Charles Bourgeois. 2. ANTOINE, born 1680. Married on January 31, 1706 to Elizabeth Marie Terriau, born 1678.
3. RENE, born 1678 in Port Royal. Married January 18, 1707 to ( 1 ) Marie Savoie. 4. GUILLAUME, born 1679. Married January 16, 1713 to Jeanne Dupuis. 5. JEANNE, born 1681 in Port Royal, married ( 1 ) Olivier Daigle ( 2 ) Jean Prince.
6. ANNE, born 1684. Married Claude Bourgeois. 7. JEAN, born 1687. 8. ELIZABETH, born 1689. Married ( 2 ) Claude Girouard. 8. GILLES, born 1690. 9. MADELEINE, born 1692. Married ( 2 ) Charles Gauterot. 10. PIERRE, born 1695. Married November 7, 1718 to Anne Robichaux. Their children were: Amable, Anne, Alexander and Pierre.
11. CHARLES, born 1698. Married January 3, 1717 to Madeleine Giroir.

I have two daughters for Guillaume Blanchard and Huguette Gougeon, Anne and Marie. Anne is my ancestor.
She was born about 1684 @ Port Royal and married Claude Bourgeoise about 1703, they had 13 children.
Their daughter Marguerite -Josephe, born about 1720 in Beaubassin, married Michel Bourg on Jan. 31, 1741. Two of their daughters figure in my tree Marie-Blanche Bourg born about 1746 in Beaubassin, married Joseph Gaudet , Aug. 12, 1763 on St. Pierre/ Miquelon Marie-Blanche died at Malpeque, P.E.I.. She was my father's 4th great grandmother on his mother's side.
Marie Bourg birth date unknown, married Cyprien Arsenault, date unknown. Their daughter Madeleine date of birth unknown married Etienne Gallant, Madeleine died in Rustico, P.E.I.. Madeleine Arseanult was my mother's 3rd great grandmother on her mother's side.
Have you traced Guillaume's ancestry back further to his grandfather Guillaume 1 and Huguette Poirier, I have some on these people if you'd like it.
