Sorry, I don't know the origin of Blanchard MI? My Blanchard family is from Adrian, Lenawee, MI.

James Madison Blanchard settled in Oneida, Eaton County, in 1850-51, from Kirkland (now Hudson), Penobscot County, Maine, with his wife Hannah; 6 sons: Charles C., Llewellyn J., Issac C., Alonzo, Colonel A., Franklin A.; 3 dau's Hannah F, Laura, Emily.

Philip Greeley Blanchard lumbered the land and founded the village on the Pine River, in Rolland Township, which was named for Herbert P. Blanchard, son of Philip Greeley Blanchard, who became its first postmaster on September 13, 1878. Incorporated as a village in 1879.
