Ward B. Blanchard Jr., 89,
of Franklin Park, died Saturday, April 5, 2008. He was born Oct. 25, 1918, in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Ward B. and Margaret L. Clowes.
He is survived by two daughters, Judith Ann Michaels and her husband, Arthur, of Blairsville, and Sharon R. Heintzman and her husband, Michael, of Franklin Park; one sister, Betty Johanson; grandchildren, Jeff Michaels, Chris Michaels and his wife, Mara, Julie Emerson and her husband, Philip, and John Heintzman and his wife, Melissa; great-grandchildren, Holly Lynn Emerson, Marcus Emerson, Josiah Heintzman, Aaron Michaels, Seth Michaels and Gwen Michaels. He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Eloise Wishart Blanchard; sister, Jean Robertson; and brother, Charles Blanchard. Mr. Blanchard was co-owner of the Able Pattern Co. and served his country during World War II on a destroyer ecort in the South Pacific. He and his wife Eloise joined Memorial Park Presbyterian Church on Christmas Day in 1960. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at SIMONS FUNERAL HOME INC., 7720 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh, PA 15237. Memorial services will be held at noon Tuesday in Memorial Park Presbyterian Church, 8800 Peebles Road, Allison Park, PA 15101. Contributions may be made to the Memorial Park Presbyterian Church Mission Fund.
