Hi Fred,

Thank you for your reply.

I have a copy of the actual marriage record of William Doonan and Elizabeth Doonan 06/12/1855, Elizabeth's father was Bernard Doonan (my ggggrandfather) and William's father was Patrick Doonan (Bernard's brother), so William and Elizabeth were first cousins. Bernard and Patrick had other children who married each other, they were farmers and obviously wanted to keep the family interests tied. The record is too big for me to scan but I could scan it in two halves and send it to you if you like.

I really can't help but feel there is a link here though. The Doonan name originated in Fermanagh, there was and is the highest concentration of the name there, can't help but think our Cavan Doonan's have to be linked. My Tree is a public tree, Doonan and Coulson Tree.

I live in Durham City, England, where are you?

Take care,

Andrea
