BLACKLEDGES IN AMERICA, compiled by Mary Ann Ryza Blackledge, David William Blackledge and Michael Allan Blackledge was published in 2002. Page 42 notes Willempe (spelled various ways) was first married to Michael Conwell in 1705. Hope this helps.

I just read your posting from 7 years ago. I too am interested in the Blackledge family. I'm descended from Benjamin Blackledge, who was a son of Philip Blackledge and Willempie Conwell. They were living in Elizabeth, NJ.

I've recently started working on this line, and am trying to connect it back to the Boston/Hartford Blackledges.
