MALTA: Ada C. Blackburn, 87, of Malta, Ohio passed away at 5 :35 p.m. Thursday December 26, 2013 at the Morrison House (Hospice) in Zanesville, Ohio.

She was born March 28, 1926 in Manchester Township in Morgan County, Ohio the daughter of the late James N. Nelson and Maggie Gorrell Nelson.

She worked at Muskingum Valley Grocery Co.
She married Robert L. Blackburn on October 12, 1947 and he died June 22, 1999.
She was a member of the Jehovah's Witness McConnelsville Congregation.
She enjoyed playing the guitar and violin.
She played for Square Dances for many years and also enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends.
Ada is survived by a daughter, Linda Blackburn of McConnelsville, OH; a son, Carl D. (Pamela) Blackburn of Malta, OH; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild; a sister, Mary Eleanor Blackburn of Claysville, Ohio; and one brother, John Nelson of McConnelsville.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sons, Roy L. Blackburn and James R. Blackburn; one sister, Marjorie Walder; and one brother, Ramon Nelson.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, December 29, 2013 at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville, services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 30, 2013 at the funeral home.
She will be laid to rest in Malta Cemetery, Malta, Ohio beside her husband.
