I found a Claus Blasse b Feb. 14, 1903 who died in Akron, Washington Cty, CO in Dec. 1981. Also, Hans Blaase March 4, 1908 died January 2i6, 1994 in Denver. Julia Blaase b Aug. 6, 1907 died July 1987 in Denver. She may have been the wife of Hans.
I found them looking for information on: John George Blaase May 5, 1904 d April 7, 1947 in Brule, Keith Cty, NE. He married Ethel Annable Feb. 5, 1927. I was curious about Claus because Ethel Annable had an uncle, Dallas Howard Annable, and cousins that lived in Akron, Washington Cty, CO.

Hello Gene,
I am also researching a man by the name of Clause Blasse. As you might notice, I spell mine different. First of all is Tuscola in Douglas county? Let you know why I ask this later. My Clause was married to a woman by the name of, and I am not sure of the spelling, Katherine Hewliske???? I know they had a daughter by the name of Dortha. I am truly hoping that we are researching the same family. On Dorthas D.C. it says her parent are from Germany. I have done some quick subtracting, and if your Claus is the right person, he would have been 44 when Dortha was born. Very possible. I hope to hear from you soon. I am also willing to share information if this is the same family. Thanks for your time.
By the way, Clause would be my Great Great Grandfather.

Tracy: I think we may have a connection here. Yes, Tuscola is in Douglas Co, IL. I have Claus Blaase, married to Catharina (Katrina) Hendrich. He was b. 1835 in Konigsbach, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany (then part of Denmark). They had at least three children, the first known child being Dorothea "Dora" Blaase, b. 1878. Claus was my wife's Greatgrand father. Please contact me direct via e-mail if you are interested in learning more..... Gene (gene@gwheeler.com)

Hi!
My father's surname was DORTAS (Brazil) and I have found it written as Dorthas in some places but I believe it is the same. Samuel Abrahan Dortas lived in Leiria Portugal for few years and he was a jewish printer. Also I found the same family in Greece, Turkey....I found in Germany that the name Dortas is a german name with origins in Greece and it means Gazzele!

Please lets contact with each other to find out together our origins.

Many thanks,

Edvaldo
