I've traced my tree back to Robert Birse born c1720 in St Cyrus. He married Isobel Grant in 1756 in Montrose. I'm struggling to find any record of his death. His son Thomas Birse was born in Brechin in 1759. Robert's father was William Birse but I have no other information on him. The trouble is, the Birses in Angus around that time seem to have had huge families, many of them with the same Christian names.

Does any of this tie in with anybody else on the List?
