Edea Birge is my great grandmother. She married Satterfield Bartley, and died in 1924. I am trying to find out who her parents and ancestors are? Can anyone please help me?

question?

Hi .... I'm a Birge from New York State. My family is most likely related to yours through our common decendancy from Richard Birge, who came over from England with the Puritans in the 1630s.

I recently won a nice painted piece of craftwork at auction with the Birge name on it. I understand it was originall from your area. I wonder, was someone from your family involved in the painting of this popcorn popper? Thanks Scott Birge

Hi,
Thank you for the information.
It just might help! I don't know what the
painting is from...I can't think of anything
that would remind me of a painting.
Bye

Birge origin

Hi tara

My Birge line is Florida (from 1890's), Alabama (1850's), Georgia (1820's), South Carolina (1800's), and Conn. From there it was England and most likely Denmark or Northern Germany. If you look at modern telephone listings Birge can be found in France, Germany, and Denmark. I have been told a liely migration was from Northern Europe to England then to the US. I have not gotten back that far but seems plausable. Would be interesting if all the US Birge's came from the same ancestor.

good luck in your search
