Dear Mark, I know your message is old, but I just found it. My gggrandfather's name is Augustus Birge. He married Maria or Mariah Pitcher (dob 12/20/1836, dod 12/3/1869), married 11/19/1856. They had children Hattie, Jennie, Annie, Mary & Ulissis. Jennie is my ggrandmother. She married Addison Danforth. They named a son Ward Augustus Danforth. Other family names: George, Bertha, Frank & Clarence. Any names sound familiar. I hope so! Thanks, Martha

Wow, this message board is awesome! I recently came across copies of a bible that were Ulyssess Grant Birge. He was born 4-21-1864 and d 2-7-1953. His father was Augustus Morey Birge b12-28-1834 and d 3-31-1926. If we are talking about the same Augustus, there was a small note in the bible that gave his father as Joseph 1805-1878, and his father Joseph 1768-1854, and his father Elisha 1731-?, and his father Joseph 1690-1741, and his father Joseph 1651-1705 and his father Richard Birge England to CT. My daughter's grandmother is Redia Faye (BIRGE) JELINEK, daughter of Ada Geraldine BIRGE. Ada is William Wayne Sr.'s sister.
I have been putting together a BIRGE family tree for a little while now and they all think it's great when I "run" into their family on the net.

I am assuming you are decended from the line of James M. Birge and Margaret Bacon Birge. I am decended from James brother Harvey who married Sarah Billingsley. Would any of your relatives know where James and Harveys father or mother died? I can find no info on William H. Birge after 1847 when the youngest child was born (Rebecca). Also would like to know where and when Jane died. I know she deeded her land to James around 1866 but did she die shortly after or move, can't find her on another census. Would really appreciate your help if you have any info.

My ancestor was George Birge born circa 1834 in Indiana. His father's name unknown but was born in Kentucky per 1880 census and his mother was born in Indiana. George Birge married Eliza Belcher who must have died before 1880 as he's with a young wife in census. His daughter "Liza" for Eliza is my gr gr grandmother. Eliza went on to marry John Jefferson Fields.

Would you have any tie in info on this?
