Hello Jerry,

The Electra Birge b 1820 in your message is almost certainly
my ancestor

ELECTA Birge b 4/19/1820 d 5/13/1903 (not Electra)

married William CHAMBERLIN July 4, 1839.
She is mentioned often by William Fosdick CHAMBERLIN as he loved the name of his Grandmother (from his privately published work, I Remember) and the spelling remains Electa.

Additionally, on line I have found a listing for
East Bridgewater Cemetary in Susquehannah County, Pennsylvania, which is the same place as you mention. The spelling remains Electa and the birth dates are nearly identical.

I really hope that you are still around because I would love to know your sources for the family.

It looks like you have Electa Birge m William CHAMBERLIN

Father William P. Birge m Minerva Fox
Father Ezekiel Birge m Jerusha Gott in Ct.

and your source is Cutter. Can you give me the full name of the Cutter source? ( I have seen this before but would like to confirm that it is the same). Can you tie Electa/Electra to a Birge Family genealogy source?

Thanks Alot!

Benjamin Dunkin Adams

Thanks! I noticed the Brother's daughter after I posted.
Thanks for the confirmation on Cutter, I am pretty sure that this is the New England book.

Thanks for your sourcing! I will look for Richard in Savage

Ben, I noticed your correspondence with Jerry. It's been quite some time since I've communicated with him. William Birge is my g-g-g-grandfather, his son Henry is my g-g-grandfather. I've done a little research on Electra & William Chamberlain, as two of their sons came to Kansas & were settled on the property next to my g-grandfather George Birge in Coffey County, Kansas.

Benjamin, I just saw you message. I'm acquainted w/Jerry. I'm also a direct decendant of William & Minerva Birge, he's my g-g-g-grandfather. I have Birge's & their wives family histories, all the way back to Richard Birge 1630, arrival in Connecticut. My great-grandfather George Birge came to southeast Kansas, Coffey Cty. His land adjoined lands of two of Chamberlain brothers, sons of Electra & William. I have obit on one of them, but now sure where the other son relocated to. I'd be happy to let you have any info that I have.

Dear Marilyn,

Sorry to take so long to get back to you. The internet service has been down for a while and I have been to busy to get to the tech support.
I am always happy to meet new cousins! I have read William Chamberlain's book, "I remember" which mentions Electa or
Electra (I have seen both) a bit. Have you seen that?

Best wishes,
Ben

I am an amateur book collector and I came across a book by William Fosdick Chamberlin that I thought might be of interest to you. The book "I Remember" is signed by the author with a message to John E. Olt and also contains a note on his letterhead to John that takes about him feeling better after having a cerebral hemorrhage. If interested you can email me @ donirongate@yahoo.com

Would you be interested in seeing the message that was hand written about his illness? I can scan and email if you like.
Im not looking for anything in return, just thought I would help.
