Hello Cousin David, I had to look to see if it had been me who posted this info as it was so familiar. We do actually have a lot of info when it is put all together. But where are Thomas's parents? I wish we knew. I did find something I was going to write to you about. I found Thomas Billings in the US Civil War Soldier Records and Profiles on two different records in the Ancestry search machine. One had what we know but the other says he was a Farmer; age 30 (same) enlisted 30 Jun 1863 (same)rank, Private (same) Place, Corinth, MS. (same) State served, Alabama (same); Survived the War, NO but listen to this ??? or read it, :) Mustered out on 24 July 1863 at Barton Station, Al. Enlisted in Com F Alabama 1st Cavalry Regiment on 13 Aug 1863. This is new. What does this mean? Does Mustered out mean he got out of one company then enlisted again into another? It also means he didn't die on Aug 11, 1863 since he enlisted in Com F on August 13th. But Com F was where he belonged when he was killed if on Aug 11th or some other date. What do you make of this. You can find it on Ancestry under his name. Of course this may not be our Thomas Billings but it is all exactly like his info except the new info I mentioned above. Leave word on our Billings site if you can't reach me. Judy
