My grandmother was Margaret Bidmead, reputedly a singer from Wales. She was married to John Joseph Callan born about 1840, a musician in the British army. They lived part of the time in London. My father, also, John Joseph Callan was the third of their five children and was born Jan 8, 1890 at Plaistow, West Ham, (now incorporated into eastern part of London)
