I am researching a Sally Bethune, daughter of John Bethune (a doctor, not the one of the church). Sally and Neal came over from Skye in 1774 to NC. Neal served with the loyalists in the battle at Moore's Creek and was taken prisoner. He lost his NC lands and moved his family, including John and Neal to SC where third son Malcolm was born. This line is strong in GA and AL.
