My Great Grandfather was Francis Thomas Best the son of Thomas Richard Best (a Farmer) & Sabina Birch Trethewey who were married in St Austell Cornwall 11 October 1856.

Thomas Best was born in Roche, Cornwall, England in 1828 and passed away in Victoria, Australia in 1911.
Father: Henry Best (a Farmer) Born 1798 Died 1841,
Mother: Mary Julian.

Sabina Birch Trethewey was born in Brannel, Cornwall, England in 1839 and passed away in Victoria, Australia in 1928.
Father: Richard Trethewey,
Mother: Martha Richards.
Sabina was raised by her maternal grandmother Elizabeth and her Great Aunt Mary Birch on a large property/estate in Cornwall called "Treviscoe" which was owned by Elizabeth's son Joseph Pearce Richards (Sabina's Uncle).

Thomas and Sabina left England on 22 Oct 1856 aboard the ship "Appleton" and arrived in Australia 25 Jan 1857. Thomas and Sabina had 10 Children all born in Warrnambool, Victoria, Australia:

Mary Jane born 1858,
Thomas Henry born 1861,
Martha Emily born 1864,
Anne Elizabeth born 1867,
Ann Sabina born 1869,
Frederick John born 1871,
William born 1874,
Francis Richard born 1876 (my Great Grandfather),
Myrza Elizabeth born 1881.

I believe Thomas and Sabina had a large sheep/cattle farm/property in Warrnambool. Thomas died in 1911 and Sabina died in 1928. My Great Grandfather Francis Richard Best married Harriet Mills and moved to Daylesford Victoria, they had 11 children and later moved to the Elwood/St Kilda area of Melbourne where my Grandfather was raised. Two of my grandfather's sisters had "Sabina" and "Birch" as their middle names.
