my Bertrands go back to Canada and I believe France. My great grandfather was Louis Bertrand in Malone, NY and his wife was Marie LaBoeuf. Joseph(my grandfather) was born in 1886 and when he moved to Massachusetts he changed his name to Barton,

Before the name of Bertrand, I believe the name was Batraw(?).

I understand that I am a distant cousin of Napoleon Bonaparte.
