In attempting to find my grandfather, I noticed on the Ellis Island documents that there was a Carl Bernhart or Bernhard. It's been awhile ago. My grandparents all originated from Germany and came over on the George Wasington and the Sarasota, but I never did find an reference to my grandfather, Joseph Bernhart. Good luck
