Kathleen: I have a cousin Kathleen Bernhart-Simon. Oh well. I don't think there is a connection. My grandmother, Rosa Bernhart was married to Joseph Bernhart in Germany in 1911. Then they immigrated - him I can find no records for. I do know he was conceived out of wedlock and had his mother's surname, Bernhart. Rosa came to this country in 1913 April. They had five boys, Joseph, Frank, William (my father), John and Frederick. Resided in Blair County, Altoona, PA. Maybe you can use that information. Thanks for responding.
