I am a descendant of a number of Berkey ancestors who seem to have originally settled in the Pennsylvania area after their arrival in America, before spreading out all over the country.
I also have a copy of Ruth Berkey Reichley's "The Berkey Book" 2nd edition. If I may be of help to anyone, please feel free to ask. Try to give as much data as possible as there are many repetitive given names. Although there are some errors in the book, it is at least a good starting point for many Berkey ancestors.
The earliest Berkey ancestor I have found (thanks to Brian Ensley) is Leonard BURGI b. abt. 1691 in Switzerland. His wife was Anna Catherine (FACESH) BURGI. The first 3 generations are listed below...be glad to hear from any cousins...
