My name is Don Boehner (donboehner@yahoo.com) and I was a victim of Tann and the agency. In 1949 I was taken from Wright's Clinic in Jasper, Marion County. My mother was told I died at the clinic, and they would take care of the remains for her. Between Sep and Dec 1949, the Chattanooga Rep for TCHS and Mary Hawkins-Wright conspired to forge letters and the surrender form leading to my illegal adoption to adoptive parents living in Temple City, CA. My mother never knew I survived. I found my true families in 2010. Your mother's TCHS records not destroyed by Tann, and adoption records are available to her since 2006; if your mom is deceased, they are available to you. You probably have found by now that Tann had a habit of changing parents' names, infant names, birth dates, anything which would derail any inquiry by child, parent, or authorities. The person listed as my father in my TN adoption, did not know of me whatsoever, but had been married to my mother for a year in 1945-46, never to see her again. No one was contacted for notice of my adoption; my mother's signature on alleged letters and the surrender form were forged - you can actually see the pencil underline clearly where they traced a signature, then signed over with ink on the surrender form.
