I am a descendant of Joseph Benn and Sarah Jackson of Haile, Cumberland. They were my Great x 6 Grandparents. My direct line is through their son John Benn and his wife Mary Rodgers and their son William Benn and his wife Jane. William and Jane's son Richard came to Australia in 1854 on the Kate with this wife Margaret and son William and there are now quite a lot of descendants out here. We just had a family reunion but there were very few people and we are hoping to get a lot more for next year given time to plan and get the word out. If you are a descendant of this line or of their siblings, cousins etc we'd love to hear from you if you are interested in coming next year. Also, my brother has a dna sample on FamilyTreeDna which has the family finder analysis done on it. So if someone might be related but not certain how we're also encouraging people to do the dna test for that if they can afford it.
