Hello, thank you for your post. My eyes literally lit up when I saw you mention your Bellamy relatives being from Horry County, SC. I was born and raised in Horry County, SC and my name is BreAuna J. Bellamy. My grandfather was Alder Alexander Bellamy, grandmother Lula Fulgham Bellamy, mother Delores Catherine Bellamy, aunt Sharon Aljean Bellamy, uncle Alton Bellamy, other aunt LouTrisha Swafford, other uncle Allard Bellamy. I now reside in Durham, NC where there are quite a few Bellamy's.

I would love to find out more about this Horry County, SC connection to the NC and VA Bellamy families. Specific location in Horry County is Myrtle Beach. As for VA, my grandmother's ppl (maiden name Fulgham) are from the Zuni, VA/Suffolk, VA area. Any info you have is helpful! I'm just beginning to thoroughly research my mother's side (Bellamy), as my father's side (Barnum) resides in VA as well and has strong ties to MD/DC.

I wonder if you know any of my ppl or any of the Chestnut or Dennis families of Myrtle Beach, SC (Horry Co.), and I would be interested to find out about any related Bellamy families that are tied to the Horry Co. ppl but may reside in the Triangle area (Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill) of NC.

P.S. My grandfather Alder always said we were related to most or all of the Bellamy's in the Horry County, SC area. By the way, his mother, my ggrandmother, Hermenia Harvey, originated from Charleston, SC, as did her sister who I cannot remember the first name of (Aunt Carrie is what I know her as).

She passed before I was born in Nov. 1983. Therefore, I'm 29 at the time of this writing, and am the only Bellamy grandchild with the Bellamy last name, but I have 2 children of my own. My siblings and cousins have other surnames.

My mother married a Martin from the Spartanburg, SC area. My mother, stepfather, and my siblings live in Sumter County, SC (about 100 miles inland in mid-state SC, 35 mins southeast of Columbia, SC), and have resided there since 1992 when Myrtle Beach AFB closed and we became stationed in Sumter Co. at Shaw AFB.
