Well, this is interesting! Have been researching Walter, John and Samuel Beaty as well, based on Marvin Beatty's findings (The Beatty Connection)and BP2000. We are L139. As Marvin has since passed away and his researched does not seem to have been picked up by anyone. I have been diligently trying to get additional information regarding this line based on census records in conjunction with Marvin's suppositions.

Other than Samuel's testimony in John Beaty's Revolutionary War pension request as having been his brother living in their mother's home when John went to war, I have not found anything on Samuel or truly verification that he, John, Walter and mother, Jean were related.

Thank you should you have any additional info confirming their relationship.
Regards,
Kathy Little McNeily
L139 Beatty (Beaty)
Walter
David
Joseph
Robert R.
Clarence Earl
Roberta May

Parents of Richard Summerfield Beatty

Am trying to identify the parents of Richard Summerfield Beatty. According to Richard's US military draft record, his father was born in Canada and his mother was born in Ireland. Richard was born in Pennsylvania about 1878. He married a Margaret Elizabeth Romig (of Weatherly, PA) on March 24, 1900. At the time of this marriage he was living in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Marriage took place at the First Presbyterian Curch of Mauch Chunk, PA. Chidren from this marriage were Richard S, Margret E, Roy A, Helen M, Agnes A, Jesse R, Margret G, and Grace E.. Have reason to believe that Richard's father was part of the Beatty families of either Thorold Canada or St Catharines Canada, and is somehow related to the Beatty who was once Chancellor of McGill University.

I believe William Beatty (son of John/Margaret) was an Esq. though and stayed on in Rye twp. for a while.
Without going to the Courthouse/historical society I Can't Really tell you anything more. I am looking too... :/

Our DNA has not matched up with anyone well. The closest is 2 steps... we are part of the Mingo sub-group.

I have no idea if the child William Beatty I’m looking for is the child William in the Rye Twp John Beatty family but who knows? So, I’m including some information on the William Beatty that I do know. I’m descended from a William Beatty and Isabella. William was born roughly 1783, probably migrated from Eastern Pennsylvania and certainly ended up in Armstrong County Pennsylvania with many children. In my tree, I have no identified parents, brothers, or sisters to William. I do have a male DNA test of this line. Do you have any male DNA lab work for descendants of your John Beatty m. Margaret? Do you have any leads on the William, son of John Beatty m. Margaret? The William Beatty and Isabella line is Beatty project lineage number 132.

no, unfortunately I don't. The only record of them I have found was In the Deeds at the lewistown (Mifflin county) courthouse. Census records indicate there were children living with them... but I have no names.
I'm a Curley from the Roscommon/Westmeath area of Ireland. My Y-DNA shows a relationship to the Beattys. I'm trying to figure out exactly what the relationship between the surnames might be.

I've noticed that there's a cluster of Beattys around the city of Athlone in the Irish counties of Roscommon and Westmeath. Have any Beattys from this area had Y-DNA testing done? Does anyone have any information regarding the history and origins of the Beattys in this area?

Beatty Family of Fairfield Township, Crawford County, PA

I'm looking for information on the Beatty Family of Fairfield Township, Crawford County, PA. The father was possibly named William. The mother was possibly Eleanor or Nelly Aiken. They were both born in Ireland. The family moved to Cumberland County before moving on to Crawford. They had possibly six children. Jane Ann married Andrew Mahaffie was born in Ireland around 1784. James who married Elizabeth Smock was born in 1790 in Ireland. I don't know much about the daughters Mary and Rebecca. Matthew Beatty was born in Cumberland County in 1796. He married Rebecca Dunn. John was born in Cumberland County in 1798. He married Hannah Hackett.

I have some information on Jane Ann Mahaffie and the Beatty brothers, John, James, and Matthew, but am looking for more. James and Matthew served in the War of 1812 and their pension files can be found online. Matthew was a tanner and may have learned it on French Creek from Samuel Culbertson. He later worked at a tannery in Georgetown (later Sheakleyville). John Beatty moved out to Kane County, IL in 1835 and was the first settler in Campton Township.

I would appreciate any help. I'm hoping to find out more about the family. Thanks.

Beatty Bible Missing Pages

Seeking to find missing family record pages from a Kentucky Beatty Bible. What we still have contains dates into the late 1700's. Apparently the pages have been missing for over 50 years as the Bible was transcribed in 1963: http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/BP2000/2004-08...
The 1963 Bible data has been preserved thanks to the efforts of a descendant who salvaged the Bible from a 1997 Frankfort, Kentucky flood and dried out the pages. The ownership has changed. To view the records as they appear today: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~marstonpla...

Barry
Adam "Harry Cornelius" Beatty and son Harry

Does anyone have any information about when Adam changed his name to Harry Cornelius? Family lore has it that he changed it when he converted to the Catholic religion when marrying Margaret Angela Flanagan, but I have not found anything to substantiate that.

Also, does anyone know anything about his son Harry's middle name? I have seen Leo, Thomas, and Harman or Herman for his middle name. He was listed as Harry Herman Jr in the WWI draft registration. When I checked into this I found that Harry the father was listed as Harry H in city directories from 1893-1922.

I believe the Harry H's are our Adam "Harry Cornelius" and his son Harry because the occupations and addresses coincide.

Any information or insight will be appreciated.

Thanks sooo much for the info. I won't be able to research this for just a little while, as I'm tied up in another maze on the other 'branch' of my tree. And I'm determined to finish that. I will post any info I get on this, if any. Not sure where to start though, actually. So far I haven't found any info to state where my Robert came from before he was in Venango Co PA. Only that he was an early settler.
I'll try to think of some way to connect the dots though.
I have been on the same search since a month ago. Here is a possibility: John Beatty and Susanna Asfordby had a son named Edward, born in 1705. An Edward Beatty shows up in early Huntington Cty., Pa. as a pioneer in maybe 1740 and has seven sons: Richard, Martin, Robert, William, Edward, Patrick and John. I think John is my 4X great granfather. There are lots of mistakes in family tree postings, but finally I think possibly I have found the Pennsylvania link. Some of the sons of above Edward moved to Tenn. and Kentucky. The earliest Pa. Beatty I can find is this Edward. Let me know if you have any ideas. Beatty is a maze!
