My father is a Beasley from Pike County, AL. HIs father was Edward Beasley son of William Beasley, son of John Robert Beasley, son of Henry Beasley, son of Robert Beasley. Robert is as far back as I have . He was from Bladen County, NC in the part that became part of Columbus County.
Last summer I sent my father's DNA to the National Geographic Society for participation in the Genographic Project. I then was able to add it to some other DNA studies for genealogy purposes. I will be glad to share this info with others, but my question is this: the study showed 1 degree of separation from the last name Rutledge. In other words we are definitely related to some Rutledge group. I have an extensive Beasley data base and have no Rutledges in it. Can any of you shed a light?
