More on my GGGrandparents.

From our family bible...I've got an original obit card of Martha Viola Ashley (Beard) b March 31, 1859 d Feb 16 1914. It says in part "at the age of 12 she came with her parents to Chickasaw county". Says two surviving brothers are Abraham Beard of Waverly, Kan and John Beard of Lignite, ND. and one sister Cynthia Ashley of Iona.

As to Maude McAlpine, I see her and her parents in the Iowa State Census Collection, 1836-1925.
