Raymond Bauchman of PA

I am searching for my biological great grandfather, Raymond Bauchman/Bachman. He was from the Tamaqua area, Schuykill County, PA. I am guessing he was born around the early 1900's. I believe that he had 5 children with his wife (?) and also had a daughter [my grandmother, Eleanor (Kocher) Ahner] with my great grandmother, Alberta Kocher in 1930.
I was also told that Raymond's brother owned a tavern in the Mahoning Valley, PA area. He was said to have light hair. My aunt said she was with Alberta at the Mahoning Valley Farmers market when she was a child and a man tipped his hat to them and said hello. She asked Alberta who that man was, and Alberta replied, "That was your grandfather." That was the only time that my aunt had ever seen him. She said he wasn't a tall man and he had fuzzy white hair. She also says that her brother looks like their grandfather Raymond.
I do not know anything else about him, my great grandmother passed 11 years ago and she is the only one who knew anything about him and never went into any details about him.
If this sound familiar to anyone...please let me know, I would be greatful!

My surname is Baukman, and would appreciate any information you may have on it,in your research.I have reason to believe the spellings may have been changed. Another spelling is Bachman. Where did your ancestors originate? I have no idea about mine, Yet!!! Hope this helps you, KBSmith

Katherine, I couldn't tell you the origin of this name but my studies indicate that -auch is typically german. The derivitives could have been obtained by people not knowing how to spell a name or not being able to understand a person saying the name. Some people went with the spelling "issued" to them from legal docs. That's about all. Try tracing backwards using SSn applications. That has helped me with some of my immigrants.

Katherine, Phoebe grimes emmerson married Frederich Bauchman in the early 1800's?. I don't have much info on them but have found the name in some of the Pa. 1820, 1830 census. The info was obtained from the County of Fairfax, Va. chancery court records and in a book titled Implied Marriages of Fairfax County. That is the only clue I have to the Bauchman family. There are a other names in there as well. Phoebe Grimes Emmerson was the d/o Aquilla Emerson and Susanna Simpson although I have found scant info on this. Mainly from the Prince George's Co., Md. Church Records.
