Mr. James Thomas Bates, 76, of Camden, Tennessee, died Monday, June 18, 2007 at the Camden General Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, June 21, 2007 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Dilday Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Palmer Shelter Cemetery. Brother Steve Whitworth will officiate the services.

Mr. Bates was born January 28, 1931, in Carroll County, Tennessee, to the late James Eulas and Lou Ila Gooch Bates. He was a retired employee of DuPont and a member of the Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela Tucker, a daughter, Tami (Dennis) Bates Simpson, of Martin, Tennessee, a step-son, Steve Scates, of Parsons, Tennessee, a sister, Janice (Donnie) Hall, of Huntingdon, Tennessee. He also leaves two grandchildren, Kayla Brooke Simpson and Conner Thomas Simpson.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5 PM till 8 PM in the Chapel of Dilday Funeral Home and on Thursday from 8 Am till time of services.
